HUSBAND and I grew up in the same small town and have loved each other since 5th grade, so he says. I remember 7th grade, but whatever!! He can win that argument! This past weekend I attended a beautiful, sweet wedding of a young couple who where together in high school also. It made me smile. And think.
Just tonight I found these pictures, taken in one of those little photo booths at Six Flags in Arlington... I got chill bumps. I'm pretty sure the year was 1972, and I was a junior in high school, he was a senior. But I'm sure HUSBAND will correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't remember WHAT the deal was with the hat. I'm sure it was cute at the time. Hum. I remember the shirt I was wearing, and I remember the beads HUSBAND was wearing - like it was yesterday. I remember standing in long lines for rides, and making out! :-)
And being very happy.

I going to venture a guess and say that most husbands would only remember the "making out" part.
Or said with correct wording...I'M going to venture a guess and say that most husbands would only remember the "making out" part.
ohh so sweet...what a wonderful set of pics...i can see the bliss in your eyes. xoxoxox and his :)
AHHH...The Magic Time Machine...with the plexiglass wall down the middle...separating the 'of age' dancers from the 'underage' dancers. Being in the underage group...we had a van parked right by the entrance, stocked with a keg. It was actually more convenient than the bar :)
And, if memory serves...I believe that hat was a 'Six Flags' thing...and it was purple. OUCH!
NOW I remember the van with the alcohol!!! I knew we got it somewhere! And NOW I remember the purple hat. I think we found it. Don't know why we would have bought it! Funny though, Brenda, HUSBAND doesn't seem to comment on the "making out" part. But he remembers the dance hall in WACO. I'm hurt.
Well...you don't seem to remember making out in the Courthouse elevator in the fifth grade. And i'd have to say...the back rows of the Texas Theater are very memorable! Then there's...
Oh...and I very much remember the Spee-lunkers Cave ride :)
I remember the Spee-lunker's cave ride! Not with you two, of course, but I just remember it.
What a sweet post -- sweet memories and I think it is wonderful that husband remembers other than the making out part!
Ah, the Spee-lunkers cave. Young couples always wanted to ride that ride because it was dark for 6-8 minutes. And while you were waiting in line they blasted cold air at you every 20 feet or so. The water was always green. Wonder if they've ever drained it??? Fun times.
